We are reading 'You Shall Know Our Velocity' by Dave Eggers this month.
The book is available at Marrickville Library, among other places.
We need to work out a meeting time and place. My suggestion is we make it every second particular day of the month all of us are free (e.g. every second Thursday night).
So, does anyone have any other ideas? What night of the week are you available? Please leave comments so we can organise this soon.
My only busy nights may be Tuesday, and Monday - if 'Monday Night Dinner' is happening on the same night still.
The "every second Thursday" idea suits me down to the ground, as I'm tutoring every second Thursday evening. SO, if we do this on the ALTERNATE Thursdays, I can make it every time!* I don't know if I'll be able to make it every single fortnight, though (I may be required for exam prep or something), and I also don't know if I can read the book in two weeks instead of a month...
* Subject to changes in tutoring pattern due to Uni timetable.
Just quickly, are you available on the 15th of March? Or is that a tutoring evening?
I thought what I wrote about the regularity of the dates was clear, but now I realise it definitely wasn't =) I meant 'every second Thursday' to mean 'every second Thursday of each month'. We could make it easier by making it Wednesday evenings (the second of each month) if you have them available because that won't be a potential clash on occasional months.
Okay, that makes more sense. I must admit I was wondering how we'd meet both fortnightly and monthly! : )
At this stage, the 15th is a tutoring night, but my entire schedule is likely to change once I get my timetable on the 1st. Is it too much to ask us to wait until then when I've got my work sorted for the term and then make a plan? I totally understand if that's a pain in the arse and you want to plan it without me and then if I can make it I can make it, and if I can't, I can't.
I have no idea what Stanton is =/
I was only wondering, really. I notice my comment may have sounded nagging =)
I got a copy myself, but I'm waiting until I finish a few other books before I start it. Speaking of which . . .
Stanton is the local library. It's one of the biggest in my council library group and is the one that I was nearest in high school. It should have what I'm looking for. And don't worry, it didn't come across as nagging. It sounded like gentle inquiry. : )
